Carlos Alcaraz retired abruptly from his quarterfinal match against Felix Auger-Aliassime and now his injury concerns have been confirmed.
The Spaniard caught a lot of heat after he abruptly retired in the 2nd set of his match against Auger-Aliassime. The Spaniard seemed fine during the match but after the match, he said he was not feeling too well on the court and wanted to protect his body. In an update shared on his official Twitter he wrote:
"I have visited my doctor for evaluation and diagnosis of my injury in US Open. A fibrillar tear is confirmed in the vastus medialis and lateral quadriceps and an elongation in the adductor, so I have to rest for a few weeks . Thank you very much for the support!"
It proved the youngster was right in his injury concern but luckily for him int's only minor muscle injuries that should heal with a couple of weeks left. Alcaraz will miss several weeks of action but hopes to be ready for the 2021 Indian Wells that will be played in the middle of October.
