Spain’s young tennis star
Carlos Alcaraz has had a fresh haircut
as he begins his preparations for the
US Open titles defence.
The 20-year-old is now the talk of the town after winning
his maiden Wimbledon title in London last month after beating Serbia’s Novak
Djokovic in a five-set thrilling final with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6,
6–4.
That victory was indeed a special one as before this year,
Alcaraz’s best performance in the competition was playing in the fourth round.
On the other hand, his triumph also halted Serbia’s Novak
Djokovic’s march towards equaling the former world number one Switzerland’s
Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles.
After that victory, Alcaraz has now taken some time off from
the circuit and in a picture on a social media platform appeared with a fresh
haircut.
The current world number one will now turn his focus to the
defence of his US Open which is set to begin in less than a month’s time.
Alcaraz defeated Norway’s Casper Ruud in the final of the last
Grand Slam of the year 2022 with a score of 6–4, 2–6, 7–6(7–1), 6–3 to lift his
first major title.
