America’s young tennis player Ben Shelton’s reaction after
winning a point during the doubles clash at the Citi DC Open erupted the crowd in
celebration.
The 20-year-old is looked at by many as perhaps the next-best men’s player coming from the US.
Shelton is taking part in the Citi DC Open where he participated
in both the singles and doubles category.
While the singles event did not go as planned, he and fellow American Mackenzie McDonald have booked their place in the last four where they will go up against Britain’s Lloyd Glasspool and Finland’s Harri
Heliovaara.
In the quarterfinals clash, Shelton won a point and was pumped
up which erupted the crowd as well.
The Atlanta-born along with his partner McDonald got the better
of Colombia’s Juan Sebastian Cabal and Matthew Ebden with a score of 6-4, 3-6,
10-8.
Despite his success in the double event, Shelton will be
slightly disappointed after long the singles event in the second round against
China’s Shang Juncheng with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
