After a long injury lay off,
Carlos Alcaraz is back on the tour with the US Open champion and former World No.1 playing at
Argentina Open Buenos Aires this week.
It was a winning return for Alcaraz who saw off Laslo Djere 6-2 4-6 6-2 in the early hours of Thursday morning to move through to a tie with Dusan Lajovic.
The 19-year-old raced to a 3-1 lead. But he could not win a superb second set that included 15 combined break points, none of which were converted until Djere sealed the set himself.
Any disappointment was quelled with an immediate break putting Alcaraz back in command. Like in the opening set, he did not face a break point in the decider and surged to a superb win.
