The ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam takes place in the first week of March, gathering a strong field of players in the most notable indoor event before the fall season.
Eleven of the top-15 players should be in Rotterdam, led by world no. 2 Rafael Nadal, who should compete in the Netherlands for the first time since 2009 when he lost the final to Andy Murray. The Briton will also chase the title at the ATP 500 tournaments, securing the wild card alongside Alexander Zverev to make the draw even more challenging.
After Montpellier, Andy will compete in Rotterdam for the first time since 2015 when he lost to Gilles Simon in the quarter-final, seeking a good result after skipping the Aussie swing due to the coronavirus. Not signing in time, Alexander Zverev needed an invitation to enter the draw, changing his calendar following the Australian Open quarter-final loss to Novak Djokovic in four sets.
Alexander played in Rotterdam between 2015-2018, winning only three matches and reaching one quarter-final. Alongside Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev and Andy Murray, there will be more notable names in the Rotterdam draw, including Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini.
In the last year's final, Gael Monfils toppled Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-2, 6-4 to defend the title he won 12 months earlier against Stan Wawrinka.
