Alexander Zverev becomes a father, welcomes baby daughter

Alexander Zverev became a father on March 11th when his baby daughter was born.

The happy news about the daughter of his child was shared by the mother of the child, Brenda Patea. The 27-year-old shared the news on Instagram with a picture showing her hand and the hand of the baby. The relationship between Zverev and Patea has been a tumultuous one with the pair not together for a while now. When Patea announced the pregnancy she also said she will raise the child by herself:

"That is out of the question for me. The child was not planned, but I will do everything to ensure that it grows up in a harmonious environment. I am in the fortunate position of being able to raise the child by myself."

When the announcment was made Zverev put out a statement that read:

“The previous few days were very difficult for me. I am 23 years old and I will become a father. I am looking forward to the birth of the child. Although Brenda and I are no longer a couple, we have a good relationship. We will take care of the child together. I wouldn’t like to say anything else – it’s a personal topic and I hope that Brenda will also try not to attract extra press attention.

Zverev, who is currently in Acapulco preparing for the event next week, has not yet commented on the birth of the daughter yet. As seen in the statement he issued when the pregnancy was announced he would like to keep the matter private so a lack of comment is expected.
