"All these matches are so crucial" - Kyrgios on Washington victories

Nick Kyrgios continued his onslaught on the Citi Open in Washington by beating native player Tommy Paul 6-3 6-4.

It was a comfortable win for Kyrgios who once again played well behind his serve. Paul tried his best but Kyrgios had a response to everything the American tried and he even admitted after the match that somehow Paul always brings out the best in him:

"I always seem to find my best tennis when I play Tommy. I played pretty two flawless matches from a return and serve standpoint."

Paul had four break points in total but he could not convert a single one as the Australian was dominating with his serve. He added:

"I feel as if all these matches are so crucial. As I didn't get any [Pepperstone ATP Rankings] points from Wimbledon, I'm trying to stay locked in. But in a way, it's good because I'm still putting in some really good performances."
