The Citi Open Washington tournament is one of the oldest events on the ATP Tour, and will be held from August 1-7, 2022 as players prepare for the US Open.
An ATP 500 event, the Citi Open is also the fourth-longest running pro tennis tournament in the US. With previous distinguished winners like Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and Juan Martin Del Potro, this year's edition will feature Russian star Andrey Rublev and Poland's Hubert Hurkacz.
Joining the field are American Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka, in addition to Canada's Denis Shapovalov. 2021 champion Jannik Sinner will not be retuning to defend his title, but there will not be a lack of talent as Grigor Dimitrov and Alex De Minaur are scheduled to compete at the event.
