Andy Murray's trademark humour shone through as he found a way to take a dig it seems at the PTPA director calling tennis broken during the lawsuit issued this week while he praised Joao Fonseca v Learner Tien at the Miami Open.

Earlier this week, the news of the PTPA suing ATP, WTA, ITIA and ITF broke. Ahmad Nassar took to his social media to claim that tennis was broken while giving his reasons behind the lawsuit.

A few days later, Murray who says this all given he coaches Novak Djokovic who is a main proponent of the organisation went onto X formerly known as Twitter to praise Fonseca v Tien with a dig aimed seemingly at the use of the phrase from the PTPA director.

"What an incredible atmosphere... Fonseca and Tien are amazing talents! Tennis isn’t broken after all," wrote Murray on X. A point quickly applauded by Brad Gilbert, former coach of Coco Gauff and Andre Agassi.

Fans though decided to go fishing to see if they could get Murray to respond to the questioning about the PTPA especially given his role with Djokovic. One fan said: "Is this tongue-in-cheek about current events in Tennis Mr. Murray?"

Another used Djokovic as a sticking point to their argument. "Weird. The guy who you’re training has a fake organization that says it’s broken."

Djokovic appeared to distance himself though from the lawsuit as he wasn't named on the lawsuit and said the wording was perhaps strong.

“I’ve never been a fan and supporter of division in our sport, but I’ve always fought for better representation and influence of and positioning of the players globally in our sport, which I think is still not where I think it should be, and where most of the players think it should be, not just in terms of prize money, but in terms of many other points that have been also stated in that document," he said as per AP News.

“I really hope that all the governing bodies, including PTPA, will come together and solve these issues. This is a classic lawsuit, so lawyers to lawyers, type of situation. So to be quite frank with you, there are things that I agree with in the lawsuit, and then there are also things that I don’t agree with. And I found that maybe some wording was quite strong in there, but I guess the legal team knows what they are doing and what kind of terminology they’re supposed to use in order to get the right effect.”
