Andy Murray decides against playing at the Nottingham Challenger next week. Has been practising at the All England Club this past week and will continue there before playing at Queen's and then Wimbledon.
Andy Murray was supposed to return to tennis at the Nottingham Challenger played on grass but he will return at Queen's Club instead.
Andy Murray last played tennis at the Rome Master's where he played doubles with Liam Broady. He was supposed to play at Roland Garros but after feeling some discomfort after his clay matches Murray decided to withdraw to heal and better prepare for the grass swing.
The decision was a logical one as clay is much harsher for the body than grass. Plus Murray has his sights set on Wimbledon which is not far away. His plan to prepare for the event was to play two grass event prior to it. The first one was supposed to be the Nottingham Challenger played next week but Murray has abandoned those plans.
Reports from the United Kingdom suggest Murray has been practising this whole week at the Queen's Club in London where he will remain to participate in the event that will start on Monday, June 14th. After that event, Murray will participate at Wimbledon.
The event will also welcome back its defending champion Dan Evans who opted to take a wild card into the event. The British number one will defend his title won in 2019 against competition like Tiafoe, Kwon, Seppi and Kevin Anderson.
