Andy Murray confirmed weeks ago that he would be skipping clay entirely because his body is presumably not strong enough to handle the taxing play of clay.
However today it came out that Murray will play at the
Madrid Open U-turning on his previous statement that he won't play any clay tennis. It's quite a strange development as Murray was pretty adamant about not playing on the red surface and with good reason. The last time he played did not go that well at all. Madrid is a very specific clay event and Murray is one of the wild cards announced today.
The Brit did not speak on the decision yet. Once he does, we will update you with what he had to say.
