Andy Murray has led Great Britain to a
Davis Cup trophy before but he doesn't expect to play in Glasgow this week.
Murray got a chance to play in the Davis Cup once more after GB captain Leon Smith selected him as part of the very experienced and deep team. Despite being part of Murray feels like he won't play because currently, the team has Norrie and Evans ahead of him for singles with both of them being higher ranked.
"I don't expect to play. Every one of us sitting up here deserves the opportunity to compete. If I don't play at all, I trust the players who go out there will do
a great job and win matches for us. You just try to be the best teammate you can."
Murray will bring his experience to the team as a former winner and offer advice to his teammates. If he does get a chance to play he will embrace it because it's been a while since he was able to play meaningful tennis in Scotland. He regretted not taking up the offer to play last year:
"I was tired and I wasn't sure if it was something that I necessarily
wanted to still be involved with. But, as soon as I turned the matches on and started watching, I thought: 'What am I doing? This was a mistake.' Physically I feel really good just now. This is the best I've felt in a long time."
