Andy Murray last played for the British Davis Cup Team in 2019 and he'll make a return to the competition this year.
Andy Muray has played for Team Great Britain with great success throughout the year and the Brit delivered the trophy from the competition in 2015. It was the only trophy he was able to win but he'll try again this year as he's been nominated as part of the team. Murray has had a fairly decent year so far with some solid results.
That play and his experience were the determining factors in team captain Leon Smith nominating Murray. On play, Murray released a brief statement saying:
"It's always special playing in a Davis Cup tie in front of a home crowd. Some of the best moments of my career have come representing my country in the Davis Cup, so to be a part of the team again means a lot."
It will truly be special for Murray as the tiees will be played in Glasgow, his native Scotland. The team will be lead by British number one Cam Norrie and it will feature Dan Evans, Murray and Joe Salisbury as well. They will play the United States, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
