Andy Murray got his Wimbledon preparation underway today in Surbiton and he had no issues dispatching Rodionov in under 60 minutes 6-2 6-1.
It was an impressive return to grass for Murray who dominated play from start to finish. There was not much to be seen in this one as Rodionov literally looked like a fish on dry land. It's not a surprise as he did not play that much on the surface and coming from clay it's a big adjustment.
Murray did not make it easy for him hitting 9 aces and dropping only two points on his first serve. He also saved the only break point he faced while converting 4/8 he had. Overall just a very good performance and start for Murray in Surbiton. The courts are quite familiar to him as he lives very near in Oxshott so this result is not a surprise.
He is also considered the favourite to win the event by bookmakers so we will see if he manages to do that.
