The three-time Major champion
Andy Murray has put his
Australian Open appearance in doubt after testing positive for the coronavirus, just a couple of days ahead of the planned Melbourne trip.
Andy is experiencing minor symptoms and still hopes to take the Melbourne trip and compete at the season's first Major tournament. Andy has been self-isolating for a couple of days, waiting for the Australian Open organizers' news if there is any chance he could still play in Melbourne.
Murray withdrew from the season's opening event in Delray Beach due to health concerns, doing everything to avoid the coronavirus problems ahead of the Melbourne trip but failing to pass the test a couple of days ago.
The last year's quarter-finalist Tennys Sandgren tested positive on Monday and was still allowed to leave Los Angeles and land in Melbourne, with Murray hoping for a similar outcome. Andy is a five-time Australian Open finalist, losing all those matches to Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
