Andy Murray is already preparing for the 2022 season and for the
Stockholm Open, he added a coaching name that we might see with him in the next year.
It's been a decent finish to the year for Andy Murray who is able to play solid tennis consistently. While the results are not spectacular, Murray has shown himself to be compeittive with the biggest names in tennis and that is something he wanted to do before he returned. He will finish his 2021 season at the Stockholm Open where he will be joined by Estaban Carril who worked extensively with fellow Brit Johanna Konta.
The Spanish tennis coach was rumored to be joining the staff of Emma Raducanu as he spent some weeks with her at the LTA facilities in London. Carril has long been associated with the LTA in various roles but it seems like he might join Murray's staff instead. The Brit revealed he would take Carril with him to Stockholm for a tryout.
Whether Carrill joins Murray full time is not known but former British number one Greg Rusedski believes next year will be pivotal for Murray: "I think 2022 we will know what Andy Murray is going to do. Is he going to continue on tour or is it going to be his last year? I think this is kind of the season that's going to determine how much longer we're going to see of that great champion."
