Andy Murray's tennis career is coming to the end and the mother of the iconic former World No.1, Judy Murray reposted a tweet that gave a heartfelt tribute to him and hinted that retirement is close.
Murray has long been quizzed about retirement. This has irked the Brit who up until recently has believed that he has a lot more to give the sport that has given him so much. But after he was seen as tarnishing his legacy which he hit back at, he announced that he won't play much after the Summer. This gave two destinations. Wimbledon and the Olympic Games.
He was playing some of the best tennis of his career as of late in Miami before disaster struck and he ruptured his ankle ligament. Surgery was not required though and he has since returned to the court rehabbing his injury the best he can for one final tilt.
"One day very soon, Andy Murray is going to announce his retirement plans. This man single-handedly walked British tennis back into world relevancy and when he goes, he'll take with him a piece of every single one of us that showed up for him year-in, year-out. All-timer," a tennis fan wrote on Twitter.
The mother of the legendary Brit, Judy Murray then reposted it with a love heart to show admiration for the tweet, but also to hint that indeed retirement is close. He will potentially return sooner than expected though. Roland Garros round the corner is only a few weeks away. He will seemingly hope for a mini farewell tour and has been training on clay. This is despite Murray previously showing his feelings on the surface by heading onto grass early. But he of course favours it as a Brit and is lass taxing.
