No. 8 in Dubai, Benoit Paire will open the day on center court against 2014 US Open champion, Marin Cilic. The Croatian and Frenchman met already 6 times on the tour and Cilic was victorious 5 times. There will be more interesting matches on center court as other seeded players like Fognini, Tsitsipas or Bautista will appear on the main court in Dubai.
The Italian will play the second match of the day. Fognini will be facing Dan Evans. None of the players were successful during the 2020 season so far as Fognini is holding a negative 4-5 record. Evans managed to defeat De Minaur and Goffin at the ATP Cup, but was not successful in Adelaide, at the Australian Open or in Rotterdam.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will be playing Pablo Carreno-Busta in the next match on the center court. The Greek and Spaniard met once in 2018 and Stefanos was successful back then. He was also successful during the previous week in Marseille when he defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime to win the trophy.
The fifth-seeded Roberto Bautista will close the day against Jan-Lennard Struff. The Spaniard is more successful in the H2H record when he managed to win 3 out of 4 previous meetings.
The second day in Dubai will also feature one interesting doubles match. The first-seeded Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury will take on Marin Cilic and Novak Djokovic.
