ATP Finals Final preview: Medvedev - Zverev

The ATP Finals final is set and it will be Daniil Medvedev taking on Alexander Zverev in a fascinating matchup that delivered a classic a few days ago.

The two best players at this year's ATP Finals are Medvedev and Zverev and they will battle it out tomorrow for the trophy. Both of them played great this week but Medvedev is the only one that is yet to be defeated. The player who got closest to that is Zverev whom the Russian defeated in RR a few days ago. The match is an instant classic that was won by Medvedev 8-6 in the 3rd set tiebreak.

Today we can expect a very similar and close match between two players that know each other well. Both of their playstyles thrive in these conditions and both have defensive skills that can easily frustrate the opponent. A lot will come down to who serves better as that will prove a crucial advantage especially in crucial rallies or any potential tiebreak.

The first match featured two tiebreaks and serves played a major part in that. Medvedev will be better rested as the Russian had a fairly short match against Ruud earlier in the day with Zverev playing a lot longer and later than the Russian. If the match goes long and in 3 sets Medvedev might benefit from the added rest.

Other than that it should be a great final between two players who will be highly motivated. Zverev wants to end the season on a high note while Medvedev wants to defend his trophy from last year before he spearheads Russia's bid at the Davis Cup Finals. Either way, don't miss it at 21:00 and if you don't forget about the recap we will have here.
