Novak Djokovic in the run up to Wimbledon was not only in the news for that and his Mallorca Championships doubles success.
But also for a statement released on the behalf of the PTPA, the alternative to the ATP Players' Council where he asked to 'Delay The Vote' on the 30-year strategic plan.
Current coach of Stan Wawrinka and former coach of Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych, Grigor Dimitrov and Juan Martin del Potro, Dani Vallverdu who sits on the Players Council as the coaches representive issued a scathing response to Djokovic's statement on social media.
"I would like to express my disappointment with the PTPA - their disruptive and undermining public message towards the Players Council and the ATP.
"I am an advocate for strong and sustainable player representation which I firmly believe the Player Council and Player Board deliver. Easy to condemn and undermine when watching from the outside with absolutely zero intention to create dialogue over the last year to educate and inform themselves about the concerns 'some' players might have.
"The fact that the PTPA has the audacity to describe the future plans of the ATP as a 'back room deal, with no player input'. I find ignorant and insulting to the players who spent hours, days, weeks and months discussing the plan and defending the players' best interest."
"The PTPA's accusations and assumptions couldn't be further from the truth. I hope there are no hidden personal agendas apart from representing their supporters."
"To all the players confused with all the disruptive information by the PTPA. I just want to say, the Player Council has your best interest and of course there is room for improvement but the ATP structure is sustainable and protects not only you but future generations."

Thank you Dani, and all members of the Player Council, for the tremendous time and effort put in to representing your fellow players’ interests on Tour 🙏
