ATP Race Update: Daniil Medvedev surges into top three after Dubai triumph led by Carlos Alcaraz

Daniil Medvedev endured a disappointing run at the 2025 Canadain Open

The ATP Race to Turin has been updated after the latest week at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with Daniil Medvedev moving into the top three in pursuit of the end of season tournament.

Medvedev has gone up 10 spots, surging into the top three from 13th after winning in Dubai, defeating Tallon Griekspoor by walkover in the final. He has since had issues even getting to Indian Wells, with the Russian ace stranded in Dubai, still with Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov.

Felix Auger-Aliassime has also had a good week when it comes to his Turin hopes, and he has climbed from 10th to 6th. Flavio Cobolli won Acapulco, and he has also surged. He has moved up to 13th from 97th, heading towards the top 10 at this early stage of the season. While Alcaraz is already halfway to the typical 5,000-point safety net for Turin qualification, the battle for the final three spots is currently separated by less than 150 points between positions 8 and 15.

Tiafoe, Nakashima and Brooksby lead way

Also victors from this past week includes Frances Tiafoe who has gone from 47th to 18th. While Brandon Nakashima has also gone up American wise. He has moved up to 25th from 32nd.

Jenson Brooksby is also a new entry in the top 100. Fallers, however, include Lorenzo Musetti who has gone from 12th to 17th, and Tommy Paul, who has gone from 15th to 22nd.

Frances Tiafoe surges.

Casper Ruud is heading towards the top 40 as opposed to the top 30 going from 30th to 36th. Karen Khachanov, as priorly mentioned, is down from 31st to 37th.

The top 20 is also super tight with only 100 points separating positions 3-10. Jannik Sinner, for instance, is in 6th and will be looking to surge higher.

The bigger picture is that post Sunshine Double, this will likely take a different complexion post Miami.
