ATP RANKING UPDATE after Indian Wells: Novak DJOKOVIC enters another week as World Number One with Carlos ALCARAZ keeping pace

Novak Djokovic looked for a long time like he wouldn't be dethroned from World Number One anytime soon but after recent results, Carlos Alcaraz has started to ask the question in our latest ATP Ranking Update after Indian Wells.

Djokovic currently sits on 417 weeks as World Number One and despite an early Indian Wells exit, he still sits way ahead on 9,725. But the fact he is not playing Miami means that going into Monte-Carlo next month, he could yet be under pressure to keep top spot.

Alcaraz defended his points haul after winning Indian Wells last year and sits on 8,805 points and a deep run at Miami will put him within striking distance. Jannik Sinner as a result couldn't reach World Number Two and with Miami not gleaming a chance either, he will remain World Number Three ror now. Daniil Medvedev remains World Number Four with Alexander Zverev moving up to World Number Five. Casper Ruud rises back further into the top 10 too into World Number Eight after losing his spot for the first time in many years at the turn of 2024.

Luca Nardi has also cracked the top 100 for the first time going up 27 spots to World No.96. While Alexander Bublik makes his top 20 debut moving up to World No.18.
