Bees, rain and now this 🤣⚠️ @carlosalcaraz's press conference is dramatically interrupted (dw all was fine) #TennisParadise
Carlos Alcaraz may have sealed the title at Indian Wells, but his week was also fraught by hilarious incidents including the bee invasion and also his press conference was left dramatically interrupted, by a fire alarm no less.
Alcaraz successfully defended his title at the Masters 1000 tournament claiming a commanding 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Daniil Medvedev in the final to seal his first title since Wimbledon last year. In doing so, it was a fifth Masters 1000 and a 13th ATP title overall.
During the press conference, emergency evacuation announcements started blaring on the speakers and instead of running out or panicking, Alcaraz saw the funny side. "Attention. Attention. An emergency has been reported in this building. Please cease operations and leave the building utilising the nearest exit or fire exit stairway. Do not use elevators. Repeat, do not use elevators."
To which he retorted: "We're in trouble? It's my fire on the court I guess," he joked. "Bees, here, this one. A news all week. God damn."
