ATP Ranking Update: Jannik Sinner enters 12th week as World No.1 as Zverev slated to become World No.2

`It was a quiet week ahead of the US Open with not much in the way of movement when it came to the ATP Ranking. But this could all change after the showpiece with Jannik Sinner though remaining atop the tree.

Sinner sits currently on 9,360 points but what is perhaps more interesting is the shuffle that will likely take place if Novak Djokovic does not defend his title. Alexander Zverev is currently up to second in the live rankings sneaking ahead of Carlos Alcaraz with Novak Djokovic dropping to fourth.

Not much in the way of further changes happen below them with rises for Tsitsipas, Paul, Rune, Fritz and Korda all in the offing if those around them don't defend their points. But as ever that is an if.

In the here and now, it has been a week of movers and shakers with Nuno Borges achieving a new career high of World No.34. Alex Michelsen who lost in the final to Lorenzo Sonego cracked the top 50 for the first time. He sits in 49th.

While ironically the player that beat him in said final went one better. Sonego is now up to World No.48 up 10 spots. Rinky Hijikata is up to World No.62 too after reaching the Quarter-Finals and Juncheng Shang is up to World No.72 for reaching the last 16. A week of career highs.
