The Olympic Games came and went with 10 largely unchanged rankings wise with Novak Djokovic still holding a comfortable lead ahead of Daniil Medvedev.
The Olympic Games may be the biggest honour for an athlete yet they do not give out ATP points. That is why the top 10 in the ATP rankings has been unchanged after the event finished. Novak Djokovic is still on top ahead of Medvedev, Nadal and Tsitsipas.
Casper Ruud did not fly to Tokyo for the Olympics but rather played in Europe on clay and it paid off. He won the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel and jumped up 2 spots to number 12. The Norwegian is now fairly close to his top 10 debut as he now sits ahead of Hurkacz and Schwartzman.
John Isner won the Atlanta Open yet again jumping up 5 spots to number 30. Emil Ruusuvuori had a great run in Atlanta as well sitting now at 69 after moving up 9 spots. American sensational Brandon Nakashima reached back to back finals in Los Cabos and Atlanta jumping 26 spots to number 89.
Nick Kyrgios on the other hand defended a lot of points and failed to do so dropping 19 spots to number 77. Pedro Martinez was another player who jumped high after a finals run in Kitzbuhel (21 spots) to 76.
