Felix Auger-Aliassime had his hopes of qualifying for the year-ending
ATP Finals dashed on Wednesday, as he lost in the second round of the
Paris Masters.
The Canadian fell to German Dominik Koepfer in straight sets, effectively losing his chance to secure enough points in the ATP Race to Turin. Auger-Aliassime stood a chance of qualification if he won the title, but Koepfer's superb play saw that dream come to an end.
Furthermore, the World No.11 is unlikely to make the year-ending event as an alternate, unless the players ranked ahead of him decide not to attend. The ATP Finals features the top 8 players in the world, as they compete for one of the most prestigious titles on the ATP Tour.
