Quarterfinals day 1 at the Australian Open will bring us the first two matches from both the ATP and WTA quarterfinals with Nadal, Barty, Monfils, Berrettini and many others in action.
Four very interesting matches await us on the quarterfinals day 1 at the Australian Open with some of the best in action. Play will start a bit later than usual with the starting time being 12:30 local Melbourne time and 02:30 Central European Time. It will start with Krejcikova taking on Keys in a matchup where we will see many winners. Neither fancy long rallies so this one will be a delight.
The next match will start at 04:00 CET with Rafael Nadal taking on Denis Shapovalov. This match is a very interesting one as they tend to play very dramatic and exciting matches. Shapovalov defeated Nadal 3 times already so there is something in the matchup that gives the Canadian confidence he can defeat Nadal. Whether he gets his 4th win tomorrow remains to be seen.
Ashleigh Barty will take on Jessica Pegula at 09:00 CET in another interesting matchup where one player has a lot of variety while the other simply bombards away. It's a very tough matchup for Pegula as she will need to be extremely focused to win this match. She must limit the errors and play great tennis from start to finish which she should as a place in the semifinal is on the line.
The final match will be another delight as Berrettini is taking on Monfils. They played some great matches in the past and they both have been really good so far at the event. Who managed to get a place in the semifinal remains to be seen but both will have a good chance. Check out the full schedule below.
