Boris Becker has a lot of plans for the future as he is getting ready to be released back home to Germany after several months in a British prison following his sentencing.
The release is scheduled to happen this week as Becker will reunite with his family and mother back home in Germany. He is set to stay there for the time being as he figures out his next moves but according to reports there are several planned already. He is set to give a tell-all interview to a Munich-based station that will also pay for the private jet that will get him from the UK to Germany.
The interview will probably highlight his time in jail as well as how one of the most prominent tennis players of all time ended up in jail. Becker is further planning to expand on the whole experience in a book which will be written in the future. While Becker might turn that negative experience into some positives it isn't simple.
As part of his deal to be deported to Germany Becker won't keep most of the profits he makes from these endeavours as a district court in Heidelberg ordered the penalties from the UK to apply in Germany as well. A lawyer commented on the situation saying:
“This means that the income that Mr. Becker generates in Germany goes
into the insolvency estate. In other words, he can't keep most of it.”
Becker should not despari as he was also offered a job in the German Tennis Federation should he want it. If he accepts it should keep him quite busy in the next few years.
