Rising American star
Ben Shelton will begin his conquest of Europe in Portugal, as the youngster has been awarded both a singles and doubles wildcard entry to the
Estoril Open.
Shelton shocked the tennis community by reaching the quarterfinals of this year's Australian Open, and has broken into the top 50 on the ATP Rankings.
The 20-year old decided to pursue a full-time career on the ATP circuit after putting on a splendid performance last year during the US Open Series. Shelton was a standout athlete at the University of Florida, but decided to go pro after a Cinderella run at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters.
