Stefanos Tsitsipas needed four sets to defeat Benoit Paire and after the match, he praised his opponent for his tennis skill.
Everybody who is familiar with tennis knows that Benoit Paire is a very tough opponent to beat when he really tries. Motivation has always been questionable with Paire but against Tsitsipas he really tried and he proved very tough to overcome. Tsitsipas praised his opponent noting that his natural talent for the game of tennis is very high:
"I am pretty happy with that win. Benoit is someone who I'd say is one of the biggest talents in our game. A lot of talent and feel for the game. It's a very important victory for me today and also very special playing on this arena."
Stefanos will face Taylor Fritz next and he is very familiar with the American having played against him since childhood. He said:
"Taylor is someone I've shared a court with since a very young age. We grew up playing together. He has improved a lot in the last couple of years so he is someone I'm going to take very seriously. I will try and bring the best out of my game. Hopefully, I'll have the crowd support me and hopefully I can do my job."
