Matteo Berrettini after exiting Indian Wells went to the
Arizona Tennis Classic Challenger in Phoenix which also featured Gael Monfils and Thanasi Kokkinakis among others but has been dumped out by
Alexander Shevchenko who won in tandem with Daniil Medvedev in California.
This at the Quarter-Finals stage with the no.132 continuing to shine after victory over Gael Monfils earlier in the tournament who he described as his hero but has now taken down the Italian as well as earlier in the tournament, Marc-Andrea Huesler.
He sealed a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over the World No.23 and now faces Quentin Halys in the semi-finals later this evening in a quick turnaround. Jan-Lennard Struff and Nuno Borges play in the other tie.
