The first quarter of the season is gone as March expired and let's take a look at which players made the biggest moves forward compared to the start of the year.
A couple of players improved their ranking compared to the start of the year and it mostly came from players that didn't have to defend many points at the start of the year. Some went the other way as Nadal had to defend a lot of points at the start of the year and the injury didn't allow that. Let's take a look at who moved forward.
Stan Wawrinka has made significant progress in the rankings after the first three months of the year. Despite starting the season at No. 148, the three-time Grand Slam champion has managed to compile a record of 9-6, which has resulted in his return to the top 100 at No. 88. That is a move of 60 places.
Yibing Wu
Wu made history in Dallas by becoming the first Chinese players to ever win an ATP trophy. All of that allowed him to rise from number 116 to number 60 which is a move of 56 places in total.
Luca van Assche
The French player is rising nicely in the past few months with diligent play and he's entered the top 100 recently. He began this year 139th in the world and is now 91st in the world.
Christopher Eubanks
Christopher Eubanks had his breakout recnetly at the Miami and most of his rnaking improvement came earlier today. The American began the year at number 123 but is now up to 85.
