Jenson Brooksby underwent wrist surgery today.
Jenson Brooksby last played at the Australian Open and since then he's been out with various injuries and will continue to do so after undergoing surgery.
The American positioned himself as one of the best young players in the world in recent years however his 2023 season didn't start off well. He travelled to Australia despite being injured and played there in order to avoid missing a grand slam. It was an okay experience as he posted a 5-2 record overall but it might have backfired as he's yet to return to the sport.
He's been planning a comeback various times this year but none of it came to fruition with another surgery (wrist) keeping him away from the courts for a while. There is no timetable for his return as he has to rehab the wrist but he'll likely miss months leaving his US Open participation in question as well.
He announced the news on Instagram revealing that the surgery was a success and that his left wrist is doing well after a lengthy rehab process. Both of his wrists were giving him issues for months before he opted to fix the issue.
