Carlos Alcaraz has reached the round of 16 of the Australian Open 2025 after beating Nuno Borges in four sets. It was the first duel of the Spaniard in this edition in the center court of the first Grand Slam of the year, the Rod Laver, and the Spaniard said he felt great:
"I am very happy to be able to play here again, I have tried to play my best tennis, every time I jump on this court I have very good memories. Last time I lost and I'm very happy to win here again."
One more day he felt again the love of the fans in a duel that at times was complicated in the third set and, as it could not be otherwise, he highlighted the support received from the Aussie fans:
"It's great to see the stands full, it's a privilege to feel the love in all parts of the world."
About his game plan at the Australian Open, Carlitos confessed to be trying to do different things thinking about winning and entertaining the fans that follow him around the world:
"I'm trying to play different tennis, with different strokes, I'm trying to entertain people when I play tennis, that's what makes me happy."
The Spaniard has tattooed something representative of each of the Grand Slam tournaments he has won and has confessed what he plans to get tattooed if he manages to win in Melbourne:
"If I win I'm going to get a tattoo of a kangaroo, the only thing I'm missing is lifting the trophy here."
Finally, although he assured that he enjoys the food at tournaments, he acknowledged that he misses Spanish food when he is on tour around the world and especially one dish:
"I miss the Spanish food on tour, I miss the Spanish tortilla."
