Spain’s young tennis star
Carlos Alcaraz has been tipped to
win at least one
French Open title in his career by his coach, Juan Carlos
Ferrero. The 21-year-old is already regarded as one of the most highly-rated
players currently playing alongside Italy's Jannik Sinner in the men’s singles category.
Former Spanish player Ferrero, who is now coaching Alcaraz, was recently quoted in a report backing the current world
number three to lift the French Open at least once in his career. According to
him, the two-time Grand Slam winner has the game to achieve that feat.
“Right now I think that the surface that best suits his
tennis is the hard court,” he said. “Carlos has developed on this type of
court, although we cannot believe that clay courts were where he was born. I
think he will win Roland Garros at least once, he has the game to achieve it. What
I like most is that he always thinks big, not just small. To be one of the best
players of all time you have to think big, there is no other option. We know
that it will be very difficult to beat certain records, but we are here to try,
to try to do the best we can.”
