Carlos Alcaraz is yet to lose a match on the ATP 500 level as the Spaniard won both events he played this year in Rio and Barcelona.
Carlos Alcaraz won his maiden ATP 500 trophy this year in Rio de Janeiro besting a solid lineup of players en route to the trophy. Jaume Munar, Federico Delbonis, Matteo Berrettini, Fabio Fognini and Diego Schwartzman all fell during that week in Brazil.
Some months later he did the same in Barcelona playing two matches on the final day to lift the trophy there. Sonwoo Kwon, Jaume Munar, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alex de Minaur and Pablo Carreno Busta. Those two final matches were played on the same day.
So overall Alcaraz is 10-0 in ATP 500 events and he will be putting that streak on the line in Hamburg against some strong opposition. It will also be the first time he will play after his Wimbledon exit to Jannik Sinner. Another maestro of the ATP 500 Andrey Rublev is also there and he will try to outdo Alcaraz. They never played each other so perhaps it's time.
