Carlos Alcaraz's golden goal: Olympics win and a new tattoo

Spain’s young tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has revealed that he will ‘most likely’ get a new commemorative tattoo if he wins the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics. The 21-year-old is already regarded as one of the best players currently playing in men’s tennis in the singles category along with Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz is currently playing in the Paris Olympics, where he has already booked his place in the final of the singles category after beating Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime in straight sets in the semifinal with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Talking ahead of the much-awaited final, the current world number three stated that he will get a commemorative tattoo. "If I win on Sunday we'll see, but most likely yes. There's one small step left, a match that's a big mountain, but if I get it, I'll do it." The young Spaniard already has a couple of commemorative tattoos after winning Wimbledon and French Open earlier in his career.

Alcaraz will face Serbia’s Djokovic in the final who defeated Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinal in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-2. The world number three is going through a great season. Despite starting slowly, in the recent past, he has managed to clinch two Grand Slams. It is the first occasion in his career that Alcaraz has managed to win two major titles in a year.

He lifted the French Open for the first time in his career this year after beating Germany’s Alexander Zverev in a five-set thrilling contest with a score of 6–3, 2–6, 5–7, 6–1, 6–2. After that, Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 to lift the Wimbledon title. It will be the seventh meeting between the two in professional tennis. In the previous six meetings, both players emerged victorious on three occasions each.
