After several years in Brasil, the tournament once again returns to Chile where it began many years ago. The host city is Santiago and the Chile Open entry list is a solid group of players capable of some good clay-court tennis. Naturally, most players are those who enjoy clay and the first among them is Christian Garin.
The Chilean is having a breakout season after good results in Australia. He is almost entered the top 20 and if he wins this one he will be guaranteed a top 20 spot. His main opposition to this will be Borna Coric. The Croatian was once the most promising young player but injuries took their toll. He is slowly starting to get better and being healthy is most important to him.
Some other better-known player's who will feature in Chile are Pablo Cuevas, Gianluca Mager, Salvatore Caruso and Federico Coria. The Chilean crowd will also have several native players defending their flag besides Garin. The most well known is Alejandro Tabilo and he will certainly be a tough opponent for any that face him.
