Daniil Medvedev is through to the 3rd round of Wimbledon after a convincing win over Carlos Alcaraz 6-4 6-1 6-2.
Daniil Medvedev wasted no time against Carlos Alcaraz in the 2nd round of Wimbledon cruising to a very quick victory. Alcaraz came into this match tired after his lengthy 1st round match and Medvedev set the tempo early.
The Russian applied pressure on Alcaraz from the first rally forcing the Spaniard into mistakes. Alcaraz did not have the best day serving the tennis ball as well which only contributed. He played the first set well but lost it 4-6.
In the next two Medvedev completely smashed Alcaraz who was looking more and more tired. He went for short points hitting the ball hard but most of the time he would overhit and committed an error. Medvedev won the 2nd set with 6-1 and quickly took a 4-0 lead in the 3rd.
Alcaraz stabilizer a bit towards the end of the set but Medvedev did not push the issue either. Medvedev closed it out with 6-2 for the Wimbledon 3rd round.
