Daniil Medvedev will play the
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships between 26 February - 2 March, 2024 where he is the defending champion. This is after withdrawals in recent weeks from multiple tournaments including Rotterdam and Doha these past two weeks.
Medvedev has cited that he hasn't been ready to return to the court after losing from two sets up against Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open final. The Russian spent most of the tournament playing five set epics and Sinner only returned himself last week after less of a toiling tournament.
Sinner won the Rotterdam Open and moved up to World Number Three as a result usurping Medvedev in the process in two ways in recent weeks after winning his maiden Grand Slam. But it will be back to business firmly for the Russian in the next few weeks.
He will play Dubai and then likely move on to Indian Wells and Miami as three big tournaments in a row for the former US Open champion. He simply wrote on his social media: "Good morning @DDFTennis (the tournament's official account)! Very nice to be back."
