The first day of action at the Adelaide International is complete with Dan Evans, Jeremy Chardy and Sam Querrey among the players that made it through.

Chardy faced Gilles Simon in a battle of the French veterans and it was the former that moved through with a 6-3, 7-5 win.
He has now won his last three meetings with Simon and will take on Pablo Carreno Busta next up for a place in the Quarter-Finals.
Dan Evans continued his brilliance as of late by easing past Juan Ignacio Londero 6-3, 6-4. He went 3-1 at the ATP Cup defeating Alex de Minaur in the Quarter-Finals en route. The Brit is now up to World No.33, a career high ranking.
Sam Querrey fired in 28 aces and didn't face a break point against French qualifier Gregoire Barrere but was still pushed all the way before winning 6-7 (4), 6-2, 7-6 (5), he will next meet Andrey Rublev in the next round.
Lloyd Harris scored the biggest upset of the day taking out number six seed Cristian Garin 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-4, next up is Laslo Djere.
