Novak Djokovic leads the list of tennis players with the highest earnings in 2023 after an incredible season with three Grand Slam titles and the ATP Finals. The 24-time Grand Slam champion earned $15.9 million in prizes, surpassing Alcaraz with $15.2 million and Daniil Medvedev with $10.5 million.

World No. 1 didn’t receive money from the bonus pool distributed among the top 30 players, considering the points earned in Masters 1000 and ATP Finals. This was because he needed to participate in at least seven Masters 1000 events during the year, but he only played in four: Monte-Carlo Masters, Rome Open, Cincinnati Open, and Paris Masters.

After some delay ATP did process bonus pool $$$ on its website and we now have the final 2023 prize money standings for ATP players. For the first time ever, 4 players passed $10M mark in a season; previously there were four seasons (2013,16,17,19) with 2 players earning $10M+.

The ATP provides a Year-end bonus prize money pool of $20 million, distributed among the top 30 players of the year in Masters 1000 and Finals. According to the ATP statement on conditions and eligibility of bonus pay: "Players that are in good standing shall be eligible for the bonus pool in this section based upon the total Pepperstone ATP Rankings points earned at the ATP Tour Masters 1000 and Nitto ATP Finals events in 2023."

As a result, all players in the top 20, excluding Djokovic for not meeting the minimum quota of participating in Masters 1000 tournaments, and Ben Shelton, who did not qualify as he won only five matches in seven appearances. He exited four times in the first round, once in the second round, and reached the quarterfinals in Miami Open and Cincinnati. However, this was not sufficient to be among the athletes with the best performance in Masters 1000.

The final prize for the first position was $4.4 million, allowing the winner to close in on Djokovic, who did not receive any portion of the bonus pool. Further down the list, we find Daniil Medvedev ($2.3 million), Jannik Sinner ($2.1 million), Andrey Rublev ($1.1 million), and Alexander Zverev ($0.7 million).
