Diego Schwartzman will play his final few months on the tour before he calls it a day and retires in short order. But he returned to his car after practice to likely realise that he may be making the right choice.
Schwartzman parked his car as he went for a practice session and return to find out that his car had been vandalised. He will bid farewell to the sport in the next few months playing until Argentina where he will call it a day.
He returned to his car to find 'everything stolen' with his windows smashed in. It is not the first time it has happened either. He had his hotel room burgled during the 2022 Eastbourne International.
He took to Instagram to disclose that his car was broken into. The 32-year-old shared two photos showing the shattered glass inside his Jeep. "Get out of the court and everything stolen," he wrote in Spanish. A broken heart emoji summed it up.
He was honoured with a retirement ceremony during his latest appearance at the US Open where he qualified for the main draw. But he lost out to Gael Monfils.
"Yes, it was difficult. I had a watch stolen from my room yesterday and Schwartzman had some items also stolen from his room," Martinez said during his last burglary in Eastbourne.
