Grigor Dimitrov had to come back from being down against Andujar in order to reach the next round of Antwerp
European Open.
Grigor Dimitrov returned to the courts on Wednesday to face Pablo Andujar and the Bulgarian proved victorious winning 4-6 6-3 6-4 in almost two and a half hours of play. The first set which was a lengthy one having lasted almost an hour started off well for both players as both of them served well and played well when they had the initiative. That style of play resulted in a tied game at 4-4 and very little excitement. The crucial moment came at 4-4 when Andujar finally broke through and broke Dimitrov taking a 5-4 lead. He served in the next game and won the 1st set with 6-4. It was tightly contested set but Andujar used his break point while Dimitrov didn't' and he played better on his 2nd serve which proved crucial.
Dimitrov came back strong in the 2nd set playing a very formidable style of play. He was aggressive when he needed to be and didn't overdo it. Andujar struggled a bit more and he allowed Dimitrov a few break points which the Bulgarian used. He himself served excellently not allowing one break point and it proved enough for him to win the 2nd set 6-3. That proved confidence proved a huge motivator for Dimitrov heading into the 3rd set where he broke Andujar early to take a 3-1 lead. He would go on to hold the lead for the majority of the set ultimately winning 6-4.
