Dimitrov stuns Federer in the US Open quarterfinals

Federer entered the match as a favorite after losing only 9 games in previous matches with Evans and Goffin. The last game on Arthur Ashe Stadium was full of twists and turns.

Federer started the match better by winning the first set 6-3. Then Dimitrov managed to win the second set and level the score. But Federer dominated again in the third and led 2-1 after three.

The last 2 sets, however, were already directed by Bulgarian. In both sets he was able to take his opponent's first serve and not lose his at the same time.

Dimitrov will meet Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals and will want to follow up on his 2017 form, when he was already third in the ATP ranking.
