Novak Djokovic came to London with a purpose and he showed it in the exhibition match against Auger-Aliassime 6-2 6-1.
Djokovic certainly did not treat this match as an exhibition event as he unleashed all his tennis prowess onto an unsuspecting Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian is not bad on grass as he proved last year at Wimbledon with a deep run but he was powerless in this matchup. To be fair, he did not bring the same focus or intensity to the match as Djokovic did but still it was quite a thrashing.
Djokovic served better and played better than Auger obviously but it was the clinical precision that was so staggering. This is a warning to all tennis players that Djokovic will bring hunger and fury to Wimbledon and if he plays like this today, it will be pretty impossible to beat him. What a start!
