Nadal eases himself past Wawrinka in the Hurlingham exhibition event

Rafael Nadal played his first match on grass this year at the Hurlingham exhibition event and he bested Stan Wawrinka 6-2 6-3.

The match was an exhibition match but it was not like the players did not try. It was a bit loose, they did not go all out but they put up a decent show and both of them enjoyed it. Points were rather short, players did not return as well as they can and it was simply a very good introductory tennis match for Nadal on grass.

The Spaniard looked quite comfortable and moved rather well. There were no issues regarding the foot and never once did not look in any sort of discomfort. It was very good to see for Nadal fans who have not seen Rafa play on grass for a while.

Nadal served better than Wawrinka all match long and just produced a very solid effort. It will be interesting to see how Nadal himself assesses the match but for the most part, rather positive.
