Alexander Zverev is living life with newfound confidence after some stellar success on the courts and he believes that will continue.
It's been a very good year for Alexander Zverev who achieved quite a bit of success on the tennis court. The Russian won two Masters this year, a couple of ATP-level events, the ATP Finals in Turin, and the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games. He followed that up with a couple of accolades with the most recent one coming a few days ago when he was named Germany's sportsperson of the year.
Speaking at the event Zverev reflected on his year believing himself capable of an even better one next year. He said:
"Me, Djokovic, and Medvedev have dominated in the last six months and I think it's going to be the same next year as well."
You can certainly make the case that they are currently the three best players in the world and you would not be wrong. Whether it shapes up the way Zverev believes it will, remains to be seen but the German is in for a big year. Eurosport tennis analyst Justine Henin picked Zverev as the next player to win a grand slam and she believes he will do it in 2022.
She is not the only one as Boris Becker said the same. Now it's up to Zverev to truly go out on the court and prove it.
