Novak Djokovic has been praised by his fellow ATP colleagues
John Millman and
Liam Broady for his decision to compete at the upcoming
Srpska Open.
Originally an ATP Challenger event, the Srpska Open has been upgraded to an ATP 250 tournament beginning this year. As a result, this will be the first time an ATP event will be held in Bosnia-Herzegovinia.
Djokovic is expected to play at the event, which will run from April 17-23, 2023. His actions prompted a response from colleagues Millman and Broady, who praised the Serbian for his participation.
"Let’s gooooo. I can’t wait,” Broady wrote, adding, “Novak helping out again after the two 250’s and challengers he put on with money out of his own pocket in Belgrade during COVID. Unbelievable.”
"This is very true,” echoed Millman.
Andrey Rublev, Borna Coric and Jiri Lehecka are also scheduled to compete at the event. Rublev is the defending champion of the Serbia Open, which was discontinued this year.
