"Don't feel well on grass yet" - says Zverev after tight win over Koepfer

Alexander Zverev kicked off his grass season at the NOVENTI OPEN in Halle with a win over Koepfer but he still does not feel well on the surface.

It was a solid start for Zverev on German grass in Halle as he defeated Dominik Koepfer 6-4 3-6 6-3 to reach the 2nd round. It was a quick turnaround for the German who played on Friday in Paris and it has not been easy. After the match he said:

“I didn’t feel well on the grass yet. This is my third day on it, but for a good reason because I played pretty well in Paris. There is still a lot of work ahead of me, but I’m definitely happy to get the win.”

The German blasted 23 winners along with 23 unforced errors in the match that lasted close to two hours. It won't get any easier for him as he will face Ugo Humbert next. The Frenchman posseses a devastating first serve which will do extremely well in the quick and indoor-like conditions of the Halle main court.
